3D Printing Slicers

It’s time to slice!

What is a Slicer?
Whether you are a beginner or an old hand at 3D Printing you will have made use of slicer software. A slicer is a program that converts your digital model into printing instructions. These instructions contain user-entered parameters such as layer height, support settings, and print speed just to name a few.

There are numerous slicers to choose from so we have made a list of slicers we use in the office.

FDM:
Ultimater Cura
PrusaSlicer

Resin:
Lychee
Chitubox
Halot-Box

Community Recommendations:
Slic3r
ideaMaker
SuperSlicer
OctoPrint
Repetier

The list above is far from complete so feel free to leave a comment with your preferred slicer and we will add it to the Community Recommendations list.

Hi

I recently switched over to Superslicer from Simplfy 3D, cause who know when that will get an update.

It is a slicer built of Prusaslicer (Slc3r) but has a better user interface than Prusaslicer
